Renault ramp up rivival

4th August 2008 - Canadian Grand Prix

Renault ace Jamie Stanford re-stamped his authority on the Drivers Championship leading a dominant Renault 1-2 in Montreal. The Renault team looked to Ferrari star Russell Fardon as their main competitor in the race but a bold but controversial move by heavy fuelled team mate Jon Clark, cemented a Renault photo finish compromising Fardon's race. Ferrari team orders came into play towards the end with Fardon allowing team leader Lawrence DeSouza past to keep him in contention in the championship. Williams had a very low key race with Erick taking 5th.
